Walks, Workshops and Cultural Discoveries in the Heart of Paris
Located between the Louvre Museum and Place de la Concorde, the Tuileries Garden is an essential green space in the heart of Paris. Designed by André Le Nôtre in the 17th century, this French-style garden is now a place for strolling, history and culture. During your stay in the capital, take the time to explore this iconic gem, rich in activities for visitors of all ages.
Creative and Cultural Activities at the Tuileries Garden
Discovering the Garden: Guided Walks
If you wish to uncover the secrets of this magical place, free guided walks are offered every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday at 2:30 p.m., subject to availability and without the need for reservation. Led by enthusiastic on-site staff, these hour-and-fifteen-minute tours reveal key moments in the garden’s history through both official accounts and personal anecdotes. The meeting point is located at the "Grille du bord de l’eau" entrance. Comfortable footwear is recommended to fully enjoy the walk. Please note that visits may be cancelled in case of bad weather.
Cyanotype Workshop
The garden also hosts several workshops and creative events open to all. From age 8 and up, families can take part in the cyanotype workshop, an original artistic experience where participants create a unique souvenir: a blue-toned photographic print made on-site. These workshops are held every other Saturday at 10 a.m., near the Concorde entrance, and last two hours.
Drawing in the Garden
Adults can also enjoy the garden’s beauty during the “Drawing in the Garden” workshop, offered every other Saturday morning at 10 a.m. This open-air drawing session, lasting two and a half hours, invites participants to observe and sketch the richness of the garden: trees, groves, statues and classical perspectives.
Garden Stories
Families with young children will enjoy the “Garden Stories” activity, a storytelling experience held every other Sunday at 10 a.m. This poetic walk through the garden is designed for children aged 6 and older. Be sure to reserve your spot and enjoy this magical moment as a family.
Cultural Jogging
For a more unusual experience, cultural jogging combines physical exercise with heritage discovery. Until September 7, 2025, adults and fitness enthusiasts can join this guided and dynamic tour of the garden. Led by a guide, the session alternates between running and historical insights. Sportswear is required.
Contemporary Art in the Garden: Mohamed Bourouissa in Residence
Alongside its cultural events, the Tuileries Garden also welcomes contemporary artist Mohamed Bourouissa as part of a residency with the Louvre Museum. Every Thursday, he captures images of the garden using only his smartphone and shares them on the museum’s Instagram account. A public talk with Floriane Guihaire, deputy director of the gardens, is scheduled for April 6 at 11 a.m., as part of the International Festival of Films on Art. This artistic project sheds light on the connection between historical heritage and modern perspectives.
