Mother's Day: our ideas to celebrate mum in Paris
The sun is back and Mother's Day is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to a beautiful Parisian day. The team at Hôtel Moderniste has thought of everything: from brunch to dinner, with a stroll and a gourmet stop in between, here is our selection to spoil mum as she deserves.
Starting the day gently: brunch at Abstinence
What better way to kick off this Sunday than around a beautiful table? For Mother's Day, Abstinence is offering a special brunch in the Motte-Picquet neighbourhood, just a short walk from the hotel. Part of the Fitz Group, this restaurant with its lovely plant-filled glass roof embodies generous, bistronomy-style cuisine designed for sharing, exactly what you need to start the day well as a family.
The set menu at €48 per person includes pastries and tartines, a choice of main, eggs Benedict with spinach and mushrooms, eggs Royale with smoked salmon, or farmhouse roast chicken grandmother-style, followed by dessert, chocolate-hazelnut crêpes or strawberry French toast, with juice and hot drinks included. To make the moment even more festive, a Billecart-Salmon champagne package is available at €95, along with a children's menu at €25.

A stroll for mum: Parc André-Citroën
After brunch, head to Parc André-Citroën for a lovely walk along the Seine. One of Paris's most beautiful green spaces, with its sweeping lawns, themed gardens and large greenhouse, it offers a truly peaceful moment, perfect for a gentle morning walk before lunch. On a fine day, the tethered balloon that rises above the park offers a breathtaking view over the Parisian rooftops: a wonderful surprise to share with mum!

A floral pause: Les Artizans
To pick up a beautiful bouquet for mum or simply enjoy a gourmet break, Les Artizans is a must. This charming hybrid coffee shop in Saint-Germain-des-Prés blends the scents of coffee and tulips in a wonderfully cosy setting. The plant-based, homemade pastries by head pastry chef Cris Massana change with the seasons and are remarkably refined, served in beautiful handcrafted ceramic tableware, they are sure to delight any mum with a sweet tooth.
To drink: homemade hot chocolate, matcha, crème brûlée or mango lattes made with plant-based milk... And on the way out, a few fresh, French, seasonal flowers are available from €1.50 per stem, a small gesture that always goes down well.

Ending the day in style: dinner at Riviera Fuga
To crown this beautiful day, what could be better than dinner by the water? At Riviera Fuga, let yourself be swept away by Parisian elegance infused with the flavours and atmosphere of the French Riviera. This floating restaurant, moored near the Pont Alexandre III, was born from the imagination of the Fuga Family, Pierre Doublet and Quentin Garreau de Labarre, the creative minds behind Laïa and Francette. Open continuously from noon until one in the morning, it invites you to linger over long dinners in an exceptional setting with views of the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais and the Pont Alexandre III.
The menu boldly blends Italian and Japanese influences: saffron arancini, Riviera sashimi with rhubarb and basil ponzu, daurade crudo with yuzu vinaigrette and pine nuts... As for the décor, Jean-Philippe Demeyer has recreated the relaxed yet chic spirit of the 1970s Riviera, striped fabrics, bespoke carpets, a central bar and a glass roof bathed in light. The ideal table to end Mother's Day on an unforgettable note.
