Meaningful family experiences all year round
Storytelling tours at the Quai Branly: a journey through words
The museum’s storytelling tours offer a poetic and sensory introduction to the cultures of Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. Guided by the voices of skilled storytellers, children and parents are transported into a world of imagination inspired by the museum’s collections or temporary exhibitions. These one-hour sessions are available for several age groups: from infants aged 0–3, to children aged 3–5 and 6–12, as well as teenagers.
Guided tours: discovering through observation
For those who prefer a more traditional yet engaging experience, the museum offers guided tours that reveal both iconic and lesser-known objects from the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions. These one-hour tours are designed for families with children between 3 and 12 years old, and also for teens aged 12 and up. It’s a wonderful way to explore the world — without leaving Paris.
Family workshops: learning through creation
Observe, handle, create — the family workshops are an opportunity for a fun and creative experience together. After a short introduction to selected artworks, children and parents work side-by-side to create something inspired by world cultures. The 90-minute workshops are suited for children aged 3–5, 6–8, and 6–12. For older children, 2-hour workshops are also available. It’s a hands-on way to connect with the museum’s universe through art and imagination.
Children-only workshops: an independent adventure
The museum also offers sessions just for kids, giving them a chance to dive into the museum’s collections on their own. Guided by a museum educator, they learn about the function and meaning of the objects on display. Parents can enjoy some free time while the children explore, and everyone reconnects at the end of the session. A perfect blend of independence and discovery.
